Ways of Being: Celebrating Inclusion
WAYS OF BEING – Celebrating Inclusion features work from RICI's Creative Convergence 2025 participants - a week-long inclusive arts festival coordinated by Ursula Christel, held in December each year to coincide with International Day of Disabled Person (IDPD) on 3rd Dec. Work was selected from the Poetry Jam, En Plein Air painting session, and the final Art Display. In this publication, the artworks are thoughtfully placed to complement the poetry, and the design (by Linda Stevenson) is accessible and welcoming. By showcasing local talent, this publication strengthens local community connections, expands access to the arts, and promotes collaboration and inclusion.

Poetry Jam
Rodney poets and the Warkworth U3A Poetry group were invited to attend an informal open-mic event at a popular Warkworth pub, during RICI's Creative Convergence 2025

En Plein Air
Local painters and Rodney artists groups (The Mahurangi Network & Kowhai Arts & Crafts groups) were invited to participate in this inclusive 'en plein air' event during RICI's Creative Convergence week.

Art Display
Artworks from the En Plein Air event, RWL Art Social Group, PHAB social club, and Mahurangi College, were displayed in the Warkworth Town Hall foyer for the Finale concert, to celebrate the end of Creative Convergence 2025.

Poetry Publication
A curated collection of poems and artworks from Creative Convergence 2025 was published in March 2026, celebrating the talent of Rodney’s local poets and artists.
